We at Emmanuel Cathedral are truly blessed to be in one of the most challenging parts of the City of Durban. Our Lord Jesus always wanted to be with the hungry, lame, widows, sick, sinners and those needing justice and here we are in the thick of it all. We believe that we are called to be challenged as a diverse community serving humanity from the grass roots up. It’s wonderful to see people of so many languages and cultures worshipping, meeting and challenging each other as we strive be a light in the darkness. Daily, people of all faiths can be seen entering the Cathedral to pray quietly. Our Denis Hurley Centre which is under construction will serve the pastoral needs of the parish community and the over 4000 people with many physical, spiritual and social needs who seek help and solace at our doors every month. Pray we stay faithful to our mission to serve God through the poor and marginalized.

Be Blessed.

OUR GLENRIDGE DNA
We love God passionately. He is our pursuit, passion and prize. We love his presence and his word. We cherish worshiping him together. We want to be radical for him, withholding nothing and giving everything because he alone is worthy of it all!
We love each other deeply. The community of God, the church, is his masterpiece displaying his wisdom to all creation. We pursue authentic, open, honest, real relationships where people are free to be themselves. We celebrate each other’s successes as if they were our own and quickly make up for each other’s weaknesses. We are those who will give every bit of ourselves to see others succeed and fulfill God’s call upon their lives.
We want to change the world in which we live, both near or far. We are ‘ordinary radicals’ compelled by love and empowered by Holy Spirit to continue what Jesus began in his earthly ministry. As his body here on earth, we want to participate with God in his mission from our own city to the ends of the earth. Every believer is a missionary, every place we live and work is our harvest field! Our desire is to meaningfully impact our city, our region, South Africa and every nation God leads us to. Whether through planting churches or establishing new congregations; whether through believers using their skills and unique gifting; our desire is to equip everyone to fulfill the mission of God!
